@Hunter Welborn has grown frustrated with both his results and Helix’s equipment over the past few weeks. Confident he’s top-tier talent, he’s been telling everyone that a team like DHR deserves a driver like him. Well, DHR heard about it, and today could change everything based on the tryout day they are holding for him.
Determined to make a great impression, Hunter sticks to his morning routine, iced coffee, morning yoga, and rocking out to Nickelback. Nothing is going to throw him off… not even the blind squirrel.
Meanwhile, @Jim Segredo has been plotting revenge after @Bryce Hinton latest prank. Posing as a JBL executive, Jim convinced Bryce he needed to leave immediately for a month-long assignment in Argentina.
The only problem? Jim forgot there was no one left to watch @Alex Leebaw .
Now Jim has to bring Alex along as the High Line crew has a big day as they visit the Hendrick Motorsports campus right across the way before Jim wraps up the day with an afternoon press conference he’s called!

The DHR Tryout

@Hunter Welborn arrives at the DHR garage thrilled for the biggest opportunity of his career. The DHR crew welcomes him with open arms and surprises him with a custom DHR driver’s suit made just for his tryout. But earning a spot won’t be easy. DHR has a full slate of tryout tasks Hunter must complete throughout the day before they decide if he’s worthy of joining the team.
Meanwhile, @Jim Segredo storms over to Bryce’s hauler, furious, and calls for @Alex Leebaw to come with him. Unfortunately, Alex has already gotten into the Sugar Shocker cereal and Orange Tang, turning an already hectic morning into complete chaos.

@Hunter Welborn ‘s first tryout challenge is one he never saw coming. Armed with nothing but a stick horse, he’s ordered to gallop through the garage yelling, “Dark Horse coming through!” at the top of his lungs. He’s so loud that he accidentally wakes @Randy Schweitzer , who’s trying to sleep in the RSI Broadcasting garage.
Meanwhile, @Sebastian Micheals kicks off his weekly morning routine, still mentally living in 2016 as he wanders the garage hunting Pokémon on Pokémon Go. He’s feeling unusually confident today.
Not far behind him, an irritated @Jim Segredo drags a Tang-fueled @Alex Leebaw through the garage to meet @Tommy Rogers and @#100 Eric Hayden as the High Line crew begins the walk toward the Hendrick Motorsports campus.

@Hunter Welborn ‘s next tryout challenge leaves him completely confused. Every DHR driver insists there’s an official team handshake, but each one teaches him a completely different version. After learning handshake after handshake, Hunter has absolutely no idea which one he’s actually supposed to use.
Turns out… there never was an official handshake.
Meanwhile, @#82 Chris James is settling into his new role as LBS Racing’s Director of Operations, where he’s responsible for organizing the team’s race preparation checklist for tonight’s event. It’s not easy when his bosses are a group of high school juniors who are too busy playing Duck Duck Goose on the pavement to lend a hand.
Just then, @BrianHayes4 returns from his latest vacation and passes along the information @Jim Segredo received from Nark at Echo Park Speedway a couple of weeks ago. Chris is stunned and immediately demands to speak with @Lark

11 est
@Trevor Haley and @Juan Escamilla suddenly break into a heated argument over who the true No. 1 driver at DHR is. Hunter’s next tryout assignment is to settle the debate once and for all. The problem? The entire argument is staged. No matter whose side @Hunter Welborn takes, the other driver is instructed to act completely outraged forcing Hunter to start over.
Meanwhile, @#82 Chris James corners @Lark and demands he hand over his phone, worried the information from Echo Park Speedway could become public. A nervous Lark reluctantly unlocks it and hands it over while Nark 1) cant believe what’s happening and 2) just realized why his name is Nark
Let’s take a look for ourselves.

@Hunter Welborn ‘s next assignment comes from DHR’s Director of Operations, who needs everyone’s lunch order before it’s too late. The only problem is nobody has heard from DHR’s hybrid team, Prime X. So Hunter is handed a trench coat, a notepad, and promoted to detective for the day.
His investigation uncovers that @#55 Kyle Kammeron wants a hot dog with fries, @Ryan Wilson21 orders the T-bone steak with a baked potato… and @Brandon Showers #5 isn’t hungry at all. He just needs a shower.
Meanwhile, with the phone’s contents in danger of being leaked, @#82 Chris James has had enough of the distractions. Determined to focus on tonight’s race preparations, he marches @Lark , Nark, @Kenwood Ramsey , and Knox into Lark’s camper, locks the door behind them, and declares, “I’m done with you bros for the day.”

Lunch break has finally arrived, and @Hunter Welborn assumes he gets to relax with the rest of the DHR crew. Not quite. The team has a surprise for him, a private lunch with @Justin Crowe For the next hour, Hunter must survive one of the most awkward and intimidating meals of his life.
Meanwhile, the High Line leadership team arrives at the Hendrick Motorsports campus for a meeting with Mr. Hendrick and Jeff Gordon. While everyone is focused on making a good impression, @Alex Leebaw can barely contain his excitement as he prepares to meet his favorite driver.

@Hunter Welborn ‘s next tryout challenge sends him straight into the garage. The DHR crew points to a spotless race car and tells him there’s “something seriously wrong with the left rear.” They give him 1 hour to diagnose the issue. Hunter inspects every inch of the car, only to discover he’d been searching for a problem that never existed.
Meanwhile, the High Line leadership team sits down with Hendrick Motorsports to finalize a technical alliance for superspeedway events. As part of the agreement, @#100 Eric Hayden agrees to transfer two of Pedley’s mechanics to work race weekends for HMS

@Hunter Welborn ‘s next tryout challenge is all about proving he can work under pressure. While the entire DHR team relaxes in lawn chairs watching the show, Hunter is left alone to change a tire as quickly as he can. As he struggles to beat the clock, @Shame Hatfield strolls by, grins, and can’t resist saying:
Meanwhile, the High Line crew wraps up its visit to the Hendrick Motorsports campus and begins heading home. Everyone had a productive day, but @Alex Leebaw is still buzzing with excitement after meeting his favorite driver.

Every DHR driver knows talent alone isn’t enough. You also have to handle pressure, personalities, and impossible expectations. For @Hunter Welborn ‘s next tryout challenge, he’s assigned to chauffeur every DHR driver around the Charlotte garage in a golf cart. One after another, they turn into complete divas.
No matter what Hunter does, somebody has a complaint.
Meanwhile, @Sebastian Micheals has become completely consumed by Pokémon Go as he wanders the garage searching for his next catch. Off in the distance, he spots a mysterious shadowy figure. Without hesitation, he reaches into his pocket and, somehow, finds a Poké Ball. He winds up and launches it with everything he’s got. The ball ricochets harmlessly away.
As Sebastian gets closer, he realizes the “wild Pokémon” is actually @Matthew brown49
Sorry, Matthew. Gotta catch ’em all.

Winning at DHR is expected. That means your victory burnout has to be championship caliber.
Before @Hunter Welborn is ever allowed behind the wheel of a race car, he must first demonstrate his burnout technique… on a child’s Big Wheel. @Trevor Haley , @Timothy Tyler Porter DHR and even @craig8392 stand by as judges, critiquing every tire spin, donut, and victory celebration with complete seriousness.
Meanwhile, @Ryan Wilson21 wolf, Wolfgang, has finally returned from a festive, and apparently very eventful, trip to San Antonio with @Brian Hebbard Overjoyed to see Ryan and @Brandon Showers #5 again, Wolfgang’s enthusiastic reunion quickly gets a little too close for comfort. Brandon sighs: “I need another shower.”

Looking good is just as important as winning at DHR. For @Hunter Welborn ‘s next tryout challenge, the team turns the garage into an improvised fashion runway. Dressed in his DHR firesuit, Hunter must confidently strut his way down the “catwalk” while the drivers hold up scorecards. He’ll need at least one score of 8.5 to move on to the final challenge.
Meanwhile, @Jim Segredo calls a press conference to make a major announcement. The band is officially getting back together!
@Jim Segredo , @#100 Eric Hayden , @Tommy Rogers , @Ryan Wilson21 and @#55 Kyle Kammeron are reuniting to lead High Line Racing in the Tuesday night Masters of the Draft league. Watching the announcement live on TV, Dylan Picklesimer (Pickledick) is left absolutely speechless… and, well… let’s just say he literally shits pickles.

@Hunter Welborn nervously takes a seat at the DHR drivers’ table as the team gathers to decide his future. After a long discussion, the verdict is in.
Not yet.
Before earning his place, Hunter has one final challenge. He has to go out and WIN tonight’s race at Charlotte. Hunter accepts but with hesitation.
The meeting concludes with everyone standing to recite the official DHR pledge: “I solemnly swear to respect the horse, protect the high line, never blame the setup without evidence, and never ask, ‘Are we going green this time?’ more than three times under caution.”
Meanwhile, @Josh McKinney comes to the rescue, breaking @Lark and the bros out of the camper. Their first order of business? Their weekly pre-race tradition. The group gathers around with a guitar and passionately performs “My Heart Will Go On” by Celine Dion as if they’re headlining a sold-out arena.

Driver introductions are underway.
@Hunter Welborn is drained. After surviving an exhausting day of DHR tryout challenges, he looks completely nervous and rocked. Can he pull off the win tonight
Next onto the stage is @Gerry Bergeron proudly representing his home country of Canada with his loyal companion, Le Woof, standing proudly by his side.
Next up is @#72 Evan Parry - SMT Racing , accompanied by the Reverend Al Sharpton.
Then it’s @Bill Daniels turn to make his entrance thinking he’s subbing for Bryce. He barely gets across the stage before flashing red and blue lights fill the stage area as @#72 Evan Parry - SMT Racing gives chase… alongside the IRS?!! Bill hops off the stage only to be arrested by police wanting to have a conversation with him back at his hauler. (Read the Beef Channel)
Finally, it’s High Line’s villain, @Darrel Ceballos , who walks onto the stage to a chorus of boos as garbage rains down from the crowd. @#2 Matthew Graham has seen enough. He storms onto the stage to defend his teammate and points towards the fans……. but he is pointing in the wrong direction.

At the end of the race, congratulations goes out to @#97 Nicholas Baumann for winning tonight’s race. Looks like @Kody Neagles and @Randy Schweitzer getting into it on pit road over a wreck during the final laps. Then we have @Josh McKinney entering an ambulance after getting t-boned by @Jeremy Jeffries in the lowest part of the infield lol
@Hunter Welborn is emotionally and physically exhausted after everything he endured. Sitting alone, he can’t help but reflect on how the DHR opportunity has slipped away. Just then, his phone rings.
It’s a FaceTime call from @#6 Zachary Cato overseas. Without wasting a second, Cato looks into the camera and says, “The DHR spot is mine… and it’s always been mine. Now get out of here before I nuke your ass!”
Meanwhile, @Bill Daniels night goes from bad to worse as the police and IRS place him under arrest as part of a tax fraud investigation. But as Bill prepares for the worst, the agents reveal they have an unexpected proposition for him. What could it be?
Find out next time on The Adventures of High Line as the crew heads deep into the Lone Star State of Texas.
